Reading List (WIP)

This is the page where I intend to maintain all the reading materials I usually pass on to my mentees. This is listed as WIP – Work In Progress, as I am currently light on details here. But, bookmark this page and come back for more! I will also try to use blog posts to explain the whats and whys of the key materials.

I. Non-Fiction

  1. Topic: Mentoring

1.1 Articles:

1.1.1 What’s the Right Way to Find a Mentor? by Janet T. Phan

https://hbr.org/2021/03/whats-the-right-way-to-find-a-mentor

NOTE: This is a Harvard Business Review Publication Article. The publication requires a subscription, but you can read up to 5 articles for free per month! Or your school/local library may carry a subscription you can take advantage of. I highly recommend you try to take advantage of the subscription through any legal means.

Here is the accompanying blog post: http://mentoredby.me/index.php/2022/04/02/quick-post-add-this-to-the-reading-list-whats-the-right-way-to-find-a-mentor/

1.1.2 Define Yourself! Find out about some psychological effects

NOTE: This is not a comprehensive list of effects but a good starting point to know most of them. My favorites tend to be the Dunning-Kruger effect and the IKEA effect. Effects like the Mandela effect really baffle me!
